thinner than 4.5 mm. The short threaded screws (16 mm) are used for
fractures of the femoral neck in adolescents; separated epiphysis and
for certain fractures of the tibial plateau. The long threaded screws
(32 mm) are used for fractures in the vicinity of joints. The head has a
hexagonal socket and the screw is inserted by using screwdriver.
